Describe a positive thing a family member has done for you.
My Dad Michael L. Bruce, Marine.
My Dad gave me everything, video games, vacations, pets, homes, life…
But I was not the best son.
I was weird, I was rebound defiant. I never knew how good I had it and yet I was selfish.
My Dad came from nothing, he was practically raised on the streets.
It’s hard to think what your parents went through, imagining what they thought in those moments when they were alone with only their thoughts to keep them company.
What did they think?
My gave me a very positive thing, he put up with me, he loved me and he gave me everything he could.
But the one thing my Dad gave me is confidence. He always told me that what he liked about me the most was that “I stuck to my guns.”
My Dad was not the smartest man, more was he great at expressing himself but I knew what he meant. It’s a connection only a father and son can have.
He meant that I am loyal and true to myself, based on everything that he had ever taught me.
My Dad gave me what I consider the greatest thing someone could give to a person.
Confidence in Never Giving Up.
